Since it looks like there's a dungeon run planned for Thursday evening, we'll just have to see who's available - I'll probably be on around 10 central and I'll see where you guys are with Annuminas, maybe we can plink a few notes together. I don't really have much new this week, and I think Sharliana is still busy. Check this space for updates!

Okee! News time! First up... We had an impromptu little concert at that elfie party on Monday... and it was quite well received! There were four of us for a few songs. It didn't go too smoothly since Floggin didn't have most of the music and Jecii didn't have them on the machine Jecii was logged in on. But, we got a few songs played and the host and some others were suitably impressed... at least from an RP'd standpoint. Second, I made a change to the music system last night and will be making an addition tonight. The change is this... The edit system will TRY to auto-detect all the instruments. Here's how it does this: In the music file, we've gotten in the habit of naming the individual parts nicely. It scans through the file looking for every line starting with T: (the title line). It looks for the last word (everything after the last space) in the line. If that's an instrument name, it adds that instrument. If it can NOT recognize any one title/instrument, it will instead trust the numbers input in the screen. What's this mean? A couple of things... * If your titles are good, you don't need to put the instrument counts in. It'll do that for you. * It will only pick up the last instrument listed if we do the likes of "... Lute or Harp". It will only pick up "harp". * ALSO, we can no longer do "Harp 1"... Because "1" is not an instrument. We will have to do "First Harp". OR input the instruments manually in that case. Last, let me talk about the next improvement that I started (but is in no way finished yet). I'm working on a "playlist" system. It's going to start out pretty basic - just letting you create a playlist and add songs to it. The big deal here is how it displays the playlist. I plan to have it list the song by filename (what it downloads as), title (and composer) and then display each of the parts. Example: Song 1: Fugue - J. S. Bach File: pop_15.abc 1. Fugue - First Flute 2. Fugue - Second Flute 3. Fugue - Clarinet 4. Fugue - Horn This could then be referenced by a band-leader who either prints it out OR has a second computer up to read it while the band is playing.

10 PM Central is about two hours late for me to get started on a week night. I will probably bring Zibgar out to the rehearsal on June 12th.

Okee! Another update! Some of you already know about it.
When logged in to the music system, take notice of two new items. First, in the menu, check out the "file list" link. This will list all the files we have, in the same order/grouping as we have them on the main song list page. It shows you the title, filename, how many parts there are and then breaks out the parts in the same manner that LotRO does with the /playlist command. This page could easily enough be printed out for reference while holding a concert.
Second up, on that main song list page, down at the bottom is a "download all songs" feature, again available only when you're logged in. Clicking that button will dump all the .abc files into a .zip file along with a .txt index file of all the song files and parts within them (ordered by title only - not grouped by genre) for "offline reference" purposes.

Very nice looking site Hitorichan and Freesia! I was looking for some recorder music I played before that I thought would be fun to try and came across a nice website: www.free-scores.com/free-sheet-music.php?CATEGORIE=130I haven't found the music yet - they were a series of Fantasias for three and four parts. But I forget the composer, which makes this a tough search. I think I have the sheet music...somewhere...

Please don't count on me for any band practice this week. I may be around, I may not. Today (Wednesday) is my first full day back at work, and if things so far are an indication, I'll be crawling into bed shortly after getting home this evening.
