Whilst sitting in the Pony for a bit of a drink before battle, this little hoity-doity elf "princess' comes in, sits down next to me and starts braggin' bout how she's such a big adventurer that's never been beatin in a battle... She's running around herself "the indomitable". I ask if she'd like to share a bit of beer or a bit of Muddy-Foot to congratulate her successes... Must have been the way I slammed the mug down in front of her that caused her to run away in disgust... not the large belch... darned elves be too sensitive if you ask me. More on her in a bit...
So, first on the agenda today, I figure I'll run to speak with a Ranger in the North Downs that I'm told can help me learn a bit of the tailoring trade. Ta fix my armor after battles and such... I start heading out North of Bree, killing some bears, boars and wolves along the way for supplies when I run across this camp of brigands. I can't just let them be, they may waylay some innocents. So I dispatch them and I remember hearing a rumor of a larger camp that may have some information about the larger brigand threat... I decide to check it out. Sure enough I find a letter detailing how they're going to side with the filthy orcs coming down from the North.
I run around, killing said orcs for a while when I find none other than Mr. Thornley tied up hostage in an orc camp. I free him and send him on his way to his missus and I figure I'd go back to Bree and grab a pint or two.
So there I am, walking along the road, and I see an orc standing near the side of the road, I pluch a few arrows in 'em and to my surprise learn that he's an elite soldier in the orc army. I've got myself an epic battle of axe versus cleaver. I'm on my last leg, when one of my cousins from the Iron Hills walks by and plays a beautiful song and I feel my morale lifted up and provides me the burst I needed to slay that foul orc. Thank goodness for family.
So I get back to Bree, have a bit of Ale, and decide to work on my Rushlight crop. I've discovered 5 seeds hiding in the port of the dourhands and figure it'll make a nice after battle smoke.
Suddenly, I hear a call for assistance, apparently, there's a hostage in the brigand camp I was just at that I missed. So I heads back over there with a wise person that shoots wind out of his staff and we rescue this bone-thin little girl. I take her back to town and work a little bit on my crop again.
Which by the way, just wasn't going well today. My 5 seeds turned to 6 seeds. Then up to 9, then back down to 6 again.
So, I'm struggling with my crop when I hear there's a bunch of warriors headed up the the Barrows to search for some children and the bone man. I've got a few other errands in those parts, so I figure I'd go up with em. After a few dozen or so battles, we find the poor kids, kill the bone man and complete the other errands I had and head back to town .
Lo and behold as I'm leavin the barrow, who do I see but ms hoity-doity elf indomitable princess herself battling alone against 4 of the dead. Sad to say that I couldn't make it over to her in time. Poor girl was beside herself. She claimed she was going to quit the adventuring life. that she couldn't be happy whilst being beaten. She then made some references to how she couldn't be happy being like normal folks like Onyx. I just had to whip out the old papers that the army gave me for being one of the undying ((some people take games way too seriously... she's going to quit because she's tried 10 times to get the undying title)).
So I continue heading back to town when I get the word that there's a Giant in the Brandywine forest! I'm thinking that it's prolly a troll, so a group of 4 of us, run up to find this so-called "Giant" and get this hobbit back his lunch. I figure we'd just sneak in and grab the pack and head back out, but as soon as we get up there, this GIANT comes roaring up to us stomping one of us into the mud, throwing one of us back a good dozen feet. My third or fourth epic battle of the day ensues and I'm happy to report that the giant fell to my Whirling Axe.
I head back to Bree, hunting some more bear and boar on the way back... my packs are overflowing with hides at this point...
But the best news of all... My rushlight crops are finally taking off. I'm up to 40 poor plants and 93 fair plants. I'm ready to cross-breed with some southlinch for a tasty new blend. Perhaps I'll share some with the new kin at our next meeting...

PS> Tomorrow, I believe I'll investigate some of the rumours I've been hearing about the Old Forest.
