It's your friendly neighborhood silly person. This time with a call to arms to ... well... discuss the Great Barrow Quests.
It's great fun. It's filled with danger. It's a great way to get a trophy for your house!
There's the main quest-line that begins with Naerandir right outside the Prancing Pony. You have to be level 20 to get the quest and it's a level 23 quest-line.
Those quests are:
1) Ancient Story of Evil (collect 2 key-parts)
2) Forging Anew (forge the 2 key-parts into a single key)
3) Evil's Final Chapter (return and fight the ultimate evil)
But did you know there's also 2 other quests that are associated with the Great Barrows?
a) Collecting History : Find a bunch of chalices from within the Great Barrow. This is the 4th quest in a chain that beings with Newold Leafcutter who can be found next to the Lore-Master Trainer in Bree-Town. Quests are: Foray into the Barrow-Downs, Return to the Barrow-Downs, Ruins of Cardolan and then Collecting History.
b) Purging the Dead : Kill a bunch of wights. This is the 2nd quest in a chain that starts with Calming the Wake; talk to Chief Watcher Grimbriar; Bree-Town in Bree-Town Hall; to pick this quest up.
--------------------------------------
So that's the Great Barrow quests in a nutshell. Now, the topic of discussion is:
a) Who wants to go?! I know everyone wants to go, but who wants to GO? Only real limitation is that you have to be at least level 20 to pick up the quests. And probably no higher than 30, to keep it challenging.
b) When do you want to go?! I've found 9:30pm EST to be a good day for a bunch of the kin. Let me throw out a day and time just to see what sticks... How's Wednesday, 9:30PM?
c) Doing the whole major quest line, WILL take a bit of time. I don't recall exactly how long it takes, but I'll guess around 3 hours! But there's a natural stopping point near the 3/5th mark of the quest. You have to go in and get 2 items, the return to Bree-Town. If we wanted to break it up into a smaller chunk of time, that'd be the perfect stopping point for the first night.
So... post your interest in going, post your availability of dates and times and post your thoughts on doing it all at once or breaking it up (or play it by ear depending on how well the fellowship progresses).
Hope to hear from as many of you as possible. Doesn't have to be limited to just one group! It's a private instance.
