forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?t=139239Rillas' announcement on the Landroval forum: Another guild is putting this event on during Memorial Day. Lindri will probably head over for the event, or maybe Zib since he could smell a feast all the way from the Shire! Is anyone else interested in checking it out?

Oh, it's on a Monday. If you're going to go then I'd go as well. I hate going to gatherings alone, where I likely won't know anyone else.

Wouldn't be able to roleplay an elf to save my life.

Just act superior and extremely emo and you'll have a good start. Just kidding, actually. I haven't the foggiest clue how to play one either. Guess it all depends on where the elf is from. I've heard the Elves of Mirkwood are rather merry.

I try to make Shianase come off sounding a bit erudite, but not full of herself. She's one for expanding her knowledge, though not in scholarly pursuits. She's interested in nature and the interaction of peoples with it. IE, woodworking and farming... How to best use the land without damaging it.
Things I do to try to pull off a "Shianase"... 1. Never use contractions. It sounds a little pretentious, but also educated. Kinda. 2. Never speak with joking insults. She's actually kind of shy and retiring until things get on a topic she understands. If she doesn't have anything to add, she doesn't. 3. Tend toward polite honorifics rather than names... "Master Dwarf" instead of "Onyxblade".
"Excuse me, master dwarf - I do not suppose you have any additional information on last week's harvest? I have not gathered any..."

I'd only be interested if a group of dwarves planned to show up and have a shirtless drinking/brawling match on the dinner table. >

Oh, and I might just attend. I have Monday off and absolutely no desire to spend it working outdoors after the terracing project. I think Shalwyn should crash the party with a bunch of her finest blackberry ale. Though, that means I have to get busy crafting... when will I ever have time for that?

It is not just "a Monday", it is Memorial Day. So if you are in the US, it is a federal holiday. If you are in Canada, you had your day last week - so take a sick day. I will bring my elf, who is book smart but not all that worldly. She is a bit formal, as was mentioned earlier. If we have a group with a few elves, I don't see why we wouldn't have some friends along who were either a) interested in seeing what an elven party is like (i.e. elves sing and dance, how cool!) or b) like parties in general and find this the perfect excuse to guzzle mead and wine (i.e. you're a hobbit). We can meet up at our kin hall and then head on over.

From the Hobbit, I gathered that they can get a bit drunk too! Mirkwood elves at least like their Men-made wine. I haven't fully fleshed out Elswen. The general idea behind her is that she decided to leave her home ages ago and wanders Middle Earth, doing deeds for others (isn't that what all our characters are basically doing? ). I tend to play her cold like her heart iced up ages ago, formal, and with a bit of Dwarvish propensity for wealth and goods... Actually, after describing all that, I don't think she would seek a party for other elves. Perhaps, I'll take Pickle instead.

I am running a little behind. I'll be logging in within 5 minutes or so. Sorry for any delays.

Rillas put on a nice little event last night. It is always a little difficult to insert yourself into someone else's storyline. But the folks at the Brethil Company did a good job of including everyone. I think folks were plesantly surprised by the band as well. That was a nice little performance. Thanks to all who took some time to go out and roleplay a bit.

I just posted a quick thank you to the LotRO boards for her, she and the rest of Brethil Company that attended seem like great people. And yes, I think they were quite pleased by the impromptu concert.

I posted one as well. Just now. I suspect it will be well received, since they seem to enjoy their roleplay.
