Come one, come all! See my latest project! Detail shot showing the dado cuts for the shelf support rails. The top of the bookshelf. Another shot of the top. A shot to show about how big it is (6' tall, 3' wide), rotated to get an idea what it'll look like when it's done.

Pretty sharp looking. Dang, if you lived close enough that I could pick it up, I'd buy a couple from you. especially with some custom spaced shelves... i can never find a good bookshelf to hold paperbacks.

nice work!! I wish you lived close also. I'd order some nice wood and draft you into helping me make a nice shelving unit for my vinyl LP collection however, I keep saying to myself, I'm not allowed any woodworking projects in my current living space. It's sad but I live in a tiny second floor condo and I occasionally have crazy ideas of saws on porches... Maybe I'll get out the soldering iron today. Soldering and circuit board work does fit in my apartment.... Ps. It's funny but in Nebraska, you are probably the closest pillager to me!

Well, if'n you're ever going to be driving through the center of the US... Heh. I'm making this with adjustable shelves, actually. That's the point of those dado cuts running all the way up the inside. Rails will go in there - the ones you can clip little shelf supports onto to hold the shelf in place. I'm not planning on putting a ton of weight on this, so adjustable shelves are fine (I'm going to primarily have some arty object type stuff on it. A couple sake service sets, a couple of small art projects from college and the like.)

Two new images... With the shelves temporarily in place. I'm not sure if I want to make one more shelf or not. There's likely room for it. And the molding at the top in place... to hide a couple of minor issues AND give it a slightly less bland appearance.

Staining is done. There's one more shelf that I didn't put in place for this photo. Now I just need to put a couple layers of a protecting coat on. I'll be using a satin poly for it. You can see an unfinished piece of pine behind it and to the right, to see what the color was like before it was stained.

Hey there, everyone. I AM still alive. Have had relatives visiting so I haven't been around much. Well, that and helping get our LAN Party setup fixed up a bit, which means driving to the other end of town. So, why am I posting here? I'll let the pictures speak for me.
