Well, hopefully this is the right place to post since I certainly can't find a general board to post under.
I just wanted to reply to Hrafnr's post.
I was actually asked to post since some have faired my opinions in these matters and I heard that even though some decisions had been made there was still some questions on how it would play out in the end.
My main Hraf is Miali. A character I pulled out of the kinship because in general I was not happy with the Kin as a whole to be totally honest. I was asked by Jecii to not pull all my characters out and because of not wanting to stir the waters with the kin, Droe, and Jecii, I left Cilencen in.
Miali is 43 and with my limited play time I was always playing catch up and trying to keep the pace with others and close acquaintences.
I understand your thoughts and I respect your decisions. I just want to clarify how I feel because some people are afraid to express their feelings or concerns and I feel it is unhealthy in life and certainly in a group or social environmen to not be honest.
My goal is to try to offer thoughts and ideas as well as express how I really felt so that new Officers can try to work out a plan for the future.
Miali was on numerous times and on some occasions only a few would even say Hi in Kin chat. I understand a lot of people use Vent but having a family and kids, using Vent is not always appropriate.
As far as asking for help. I have never asked for any help in most games and would never even lean on the edge of what some people call begging. I have always been one to work a challenge as best as I can without having to ask.
The main point is that most times the Kin was off in instances, raids, etc. that it would not have mattered either way. Heck my friend Jecii would be so indulged in a Raid or outing I got but two sentences from him the entire time I was on let alone anyone else.
Raiding guilds are awesome and so are Family type guilds etc. Speaking from experience I don't think appeasing both types works. I know it appears that the family, social kin is the way they are leaning and most of this topic is probably moot but I promised I would post my thoughts on this and I was just keeping my end of the bargain.
There are some fine people in the pillagers both present and past as well as the leaders, officers, and members. I honestly feel in life we all learn by experience and trial and error. There are no wrong decisions with how the kin was or is going to be, and as leaders you should all be commended for your time and dedication.
I have been there and traveled the same road. At times it is not pleasant and hardly ever rewarding. The success of any organization are "its people". I just think at times that may have been overlooked. Tomorrow is always another day.
