Just thought it would be nice to have a get together with as many folks as possible. Anyway, I was thinking maybe the Festival grounds north of Bree? Please express your opinions here, as I sit here, I am thinking it would be good to have before release, but that may not be enough time for people to put some time aside. Anyway, it would help if some folks would put aside some times and dates. Also, whether we should have this get together on voice chat or in game chat...or both... Communication is everything in relationships, and the sharing of our goals and thoughts in general will help us help each other. Lastly, I think that every single one of you is a fantastic person! I really mean that, the giving selfless spirit I have seen so far is really something to be proud of Anyway...someone, please start the dialog

This sounds like a fine idea. At this point our (Rhavaniel and I that is) schedule remains pretty consistent and for the most part coinciding. Tuesday and Wednesday evenings generally being best. A weekend afternoon/evening is fine provided nothing else has been planned. Any night other than that we generally can't commit to being on before 9:00 pm eastern time due to work/professional commitments (and dinner!)
I think the party area near Bree is great and may also help to bring some role-play to a slightly more visible and less isolated location (i.e. In the Pony, the Shire, etc...).
As far as which channel of information we use - that depends on the purpose of our get together.
I personally, when roleplaying, stay off voice chat. Well, I actually don't use voice chat all *that* much in any case unless it is a tactical decision, but especially when in character I just find sticking with the /say /emote and /tell channel the best way to go. I've got a hard time remaining immersed with any other flows of information going by.
Now if the purpose of the event is a 'kinship meeting' including the discussion of policies, future goals, 'official' (at least as official as we get) stuff, etc... and less about remaining in character then I think voice chat is fine. And perhaps even necessary.
We could even have an IC and non IC component. Perhaps the IC RP component we could make it a point to invite our allied kinships to, after our 'ficial business.

I personally, when roleplaying, stay off voice chat. but then you would have missed Trevyr! Now if the purpose of the event is a 'kinship meeting' including the discussion of policies, future goals, 'official' (at least as official as we get) stuff, etc... and less about remaining in character then I think voice chat is fine. And perhaps even necessary. yep! The reason I prefer using Vent for something like this, at least folks can hear, if they get self conscious about speaking, or do not want to give away the gender/age of the player (personal freedoms, I'm all for 'em) is that it makes meetings alot quicker!

but then you would have missed Trevyr! We saw someone named Trevyr the other day and was hoping it was you! yep! The reason I prefer using Vent for something like this, at least folks can hear, if they get self conscious about speaking, or do not want to give away the gender/age of the player (personal freedoms, I'm all for 'em) is that it makes meetings alot quicker! that sounds just fine. As said if the meeting aspect is a strong component (vs. RP for all of it) then I think voice chat - at least listening - is a good idea...

I will try to make some time for this, but there are no garantees. Its the week before finals and I have a workload up to mine eyeballs. (Thats where I have been for the past few days by the way). If we can settle on a day and time, and I am not grinding away on a term paper, poster design, or movie, I'll be there with bells on and food for all!

Boy I really do pity you students this time of year. I'll refrain from saying it is the best time of the semester for us professors. Oops... I just did. *evil grin*

This sounds like a fine idea, I'm availible after 8pm EST during the week usually. About anytime during the weekends.
This will be a good time for people to get use to using Vent if they haven't before, and a good event for us all to meet n greet all of us new members. =D

Hanging out in Frogmorton on 4/26 aka Slumming in the Shire, I will be there!
What time is EDT is that an hour ahead of the east coast? If its starting at 10pm EST I may arrive but not stick around very long as I have to work the next day.
