So I log on tonight, start talking, hanging out in the AH, go let the dog in, and come back, screen is all wacky, and game is crashed. Log back in and good ol Bubs is a pixel mess. Cannot get game to start. So I dont know. Weird. Might have to do the reinstall or something.

first thing I'd try if rebooting doesn't fix it is to update your video drivers. But reinstalling may be the best choice also, but that's probably not quick!

Reinstalled drivers. Worked for a minute as you saw. But then no go. Fired up CoD, same thing. What we have here is a failure of hardware. Something has gone belly up. Probably card, but we will see.

Well I am going out on a short limb and saying that the vid card has bought the farm. I can do basic website surfing and such, but any game, benchmarking, or graphic heavy websites will shut'er down. So my thoughts on this process for anyone that cares is avoid EVGA. I hate those fools. Nothing but problems with their service. I know, could be hit and miss, but they lost a customer in the rebate fight, and now for certain. Who knows, they may RMA it. If they do great, craigslist here it comes, but my new card should be in the brown truck by tomorrow morning. See ya all by Friday I would imagine.

What type of card is it, Bubub? Is it one of the NVidia 9xxx series cards? If that's the case, it's not eVGA's fault. The 9600 cards have been failing left and right from all manufacturers - it's a problem in NVidia's chip manufacturing. Been in the news some too. Slashdot Article, plus one about A Lawsuit in California. Sounds like even SOME 8800GTs are failing at surprising rates. Of course, if it's not one of these, then there's less of an explanation...

Well that explains their immediate RMA acceptance. Sweet. Now I will have 2 cards. I will keep the better one, and sell the second one to offset the cost of the new one. Hopefully be installed by tomorrow to kill some Goblins.
