Just thought I'd share a nice little adventure a few of us undertook last night.
We went into CD just to check out a new bridge I'd heard mention of. Sure enough it's there and leads straight to the castle's front door.
In classic Onyx fashion, I forgot about the 3 gorthies chilling out around this corner and i kinda drew their ire before we were ready for them. I was the only casualty in the battle that ensued with the 5 gorthies and 2 summoned hornblower friends, but Super Captain/Minstrel rez had me back up and swinging away wildly in no time.
Since we had folks that needed the Rune of Winged Dominance, we went ahead and walked up to the front door of the castle and politely asked the door guard to be let in. He of course declined so we had to beat the door down to be let in.
After we went up a couple flights of stairs and got the Rune, we did a quick check to see how folks were doing. Everyone was rearing to go (it had only been an hour at this point), so we decided to go ahead up the stairs.
Floor by floor, the denizens fell to our onslaught and eventually we arrived at the top floor. We took a quick look at the view from the balcony and then proceeded to the throne-room. Several rounds of guards tried to stop us, but eventually we walked in and prepared for the final battle.
We'd been here before and had fallen well before the end, but this time, we were not to be denied.
Mordirith was soon vanquished from Middle-Earth. We looted the throne room, and for some reason, our burglar took home a broken mirror. *shrug* I'll never understand women.
You can take a look at it in the kinhall. Right next to Udunion's Blades. Quite scary looking.
Well done folks! Don't be shy if you want to go! I'm usually up for a jaunt to urugarth or carn dum or barad guluaran or Goblin-town or wherever. And sometimes, unplanned adventures are the ones that end up with the greatest rewards!
