No, I haven't abandoned you, I swear!
Funny thing though... I was out all Monday evening with a girlfriend and got home late, checked out my Facebook page a bit before going to bed and all was well. My computer was in its "normal" satisfactory running condition.
I started my system back up at 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning only to be told that my Windows config file is either missing or corrupted.
*bangs head on desk repeatedly*
I just don't get it.
Yngvi is currently cannibalizing an older system of ours, trying to salvage a floppy drive (because my current system doesn't have one) so that I can attempt an Emergency Repair... because I'll be d**ned if I'm going to just wipe the drive and start over like I did just a few months ago.
Anyway... just wanted to let you know where I am. I'm logged in on Yngvi's machine right now so I could check the boards and send y'all a quick note.
Wish me luck! *fingers crossed*

sorry to hear that. You are missed! Eru help us all if my bear gets hungry and Cerewen is not around to send more food! I want to be very clear that Ceol denies any responsibility for missing hobbits under those circumstances!
Seriously, good luck and hurry back!

www.tomsguide.com/us/winpe-winre-bootable,review-1191.html maybe this would help? Anyhow, my Vista computer has failed to ever update and I'm in need of rebuilding. Soon, I'll have all my music and such backed up and rebuilt and I'll be more excited to play... PS. Have you tested the hard drive? Before you get too far, I'd go to Seagate or Western Digital. Download and burn the hard drive diagnostics CD. Boot to that CD and run the tests on the hard drive. If the hard drive tests bad, get rid of it! PSS. Fracken floppies should be relegated to Battlestar Galactica or something. Stupid raid drivers needed for windows installs always have me scrounging for a working floppy disc and drive...

lol... none of my computers even have a floppy drive Thel!
I've got a boot CD that I've built up over the years that's got a lot of great tools... not as good as the infamous Hiren's Boot CD, but adequate.
